Traveling Companions

Time is the small change of the universe
Like grains of sand, it fills up the cracks
When words are lost, then found again

The purchase of love is never paid in full
Hours and years cannot be enough
Where one and two are one again

Time may be wished for and granted
It can be spent, but never made

Love may be offered and received
It can be earned, but never claimed

Finding love is like finding time
The journey is its own destination
The payment its own reward

A single moment can be priceless
For such traveling companions
As you and me

Father, son, husband, friend and writer by day; asleep by night. Happily pondering the immortality of the crab wherever words are shared.
